Service Description

Discover the spectacular landscapes of the Scottish Highlands on our private Great Glen to Glencoe tour from Inverness, a favourite for Harry Potter fans. This itinerary also features landscapes shaped by 420 million years of geological history forming a stunning dramatic volcanic valley and carries a deep historical significance to the 1692 Massacre of Glencoe. Travel through the Great Glen from Inverness to watch the Jacobite Steam Train (the 'Harry Potter Hogwarts Express') cross the spectacular Glenfinnan Viaduct. You will also see the Glenfinnan Monument on the banks of Loch Shiel, which marks the 1745 Jacobite Rising, and our guide will point out the digital location of Hogwarts. From there, explore the quaint local shops, cafes, and restaurants in Fort William before driving to Glencoe, a location known for its dramatic clan history and as the setting for Hagrid's cottage. FEATURE ATTRACTIONS (not limited to): ★ Glenfinnan Viaduct: The railway for the 'Hogwarts Express' Jacobite Steam train. ★ Glenfinnan Monument: A commemoration of the 1745 Jacobite Rising. ★ Loch Shiel: The freshwater loch featured as background scenery in all eight movies. ★ Fort William: A popular holiday town filled with local amenities. ★ The Great Glen: Miles of exceptional natural scenery. ★ Glencoe: A beautiful, historic glen that attracts hikers and climbers worldwide. ★ Glencoe Visitors Centre: Features the Turf Longhouse, Hagrid's cottage location, Interactive Exhibition and Nature trails. ★ Commando Memorial: Dedicated to the British Commando Forces of World War II. We are more than happy to tailor the itinerary to your preference as long as it fits within the tour route and duration, so please feel free to reach out to discuss what works best for you. Just keep in mind that schedules can occasionally shift due to unforeseen local events, weather, or opening hours.
